The artwork that I have created, titled Foxibly Extinct, is in the form of a fox in a forest surrounded by plenty of pine trees. This piece covers the topic of extinction by depicting one lonely fox. My artwork is very simple in the sense that it includes only one animal and plenty of trees, but the animal makes a statement. Obvious elements that I used in this piece consist of shapes, specifically geometric shapes. I also included value with the lines from the pine trees. My artwork was made with a piece of paper and a pen, I also used plenty of eraser. Patterns were the main aspect of my work, they are what created the detail and specificness of my work. My work consisted of 3 boxes, all the same size. In each box, I focused greatly on detail and how they would look from a distance. What inspired my artwork was the topic of extinction. It is devastating how such a beautiful animal is so close to being extinct due to carelessness. It expresses their beauty and innocence. My goal as an artist was to include as much detail as I possibly could to show the beauty. I tried to stay away from curves because when I think of foxes I think of straight lines, because they are powerful. This piece helped me reach my goal by opening my eyes about the issue. What I learned during this project was that patience was the most important thing to have. I messed up and had to restart but in the end, my final product was successful. For the next project, I will have patience and use more pencil.
